A B O U T

Charles Sandford is a London born actor, physical performer and visual artist. He trained at RADA in their MA Theatre Lab and has since become a specialist in physical theatre. Working closely with Theatre Re, Animikii Theatre, Tmesis Theatre company as well as making his own work combining performance and sculpture. Charles' expertise as a visual artist translates beautifully into developing new theatrical works. Within movement direction and acting Charles offers a unique physical perspective that has developed from his Fine Arts degree at Kingston and his physical training at RADA.

Charles took the title role in Luvas Theatre’s production of ‘Titus Andronicus’, toured nationally as Animikii Theatre’s lead in their premier piece ‘Origins’ and toured Europe with TNT’s ‘Dracula’. Charles took the lead in Clockschool Theatre’s production of ‘The Poetry of Exile’, developed a new work based on Kafka’s ‘Hunger Artist’, performed at Tate Britian with artists Lucy Beech and Edward Thomasson and has taken 'Origins' by Animikii Theatre to Edinburgh which was awarded "Pick of the Fringe" by Voice Magazine *****.

Sandford as basin-haired, bespectacled Rob, gives a note-perfect and sympathetic performance...a masterclass in how to do funny-sad.
